DAY 1 - CUSCO - MOLLEPATA - SORAYPAMPA - HUMANTAY LAGOON

In the morning, we will head from Cusco (Arco Pata Avenue - Santiago - Cusco) to the town of Mollepata, a small village where you will have your first breakfast on your excursion to Choquequirao. After breakfast, you will take a shuttle bus about an hour before your Soraypampa accommodation for lunch. After lunch, you will begin the hike to the famous Humantay Lagoon, approximately 1.5 hours uphill, arriving at the lagoon around 1 to 2 pm. After a walk around the lagoon, you will descend to the lodge where you will have a free afternoon to enjoy the sunset. You will then enjoy dinner and spend the night at your accommodation.

DAY 2: SORAYPAMPA - CHAULLAY

After a hearty breakfast at 6:00 a.m., you will begin your uphill hike for the first four hours of the day toward the Salkantay Pass (4,600 m) (15,213 ft), the highest point of the route. You will then walk downhill until you reach Wayracmachay, where you can have a short break and have a box lunch. After lunch, you will continue your journey to Chaullay (2,889 m / 9,481 ft.), arriving at the lodge at 4 pm, where your room will be ready. In your room, you will have a hot shower, towels, soft paper towels, bath soap, and Wi-Fi access.

DAY 3: CHALLWAY YANAMA - MAIZAL

In the morning around 5:00 am, we will have breakfast and then continue our journey in a car that will take us to the community of Yanama for a 2-hour trip, arriving in Yanama around 8:30 am. In Yanama, we will have a 10-minute break before continuing our walk until we reach the San Juan area. There we will have a break for our snack lunch. After a short break, we will continue our walk downhill to Maizal for approximately 4 hours, where we will spend the night.

DAY 4: MAIZAL – PINCHAUNUYOC CHOQUEQUIRAO AND MARANPATA

After your delicious breakfast early in the morning, you will begin your day's hike downhill for approximately 2 hours, exploring a warmer, tropical climate along the Río Blanco Valley and observing the archaeological remains of Pinchaunuyoc. Arriving around 8:00 a.m. in Río Blanco, we will continue our hike uphill to the Pinchaunuyoc archaeological site for about 2 hours along a challenging trail. We will reach the Pinchaunuyoc site. There, we will take a short break to visit the site and then continue the hike to Choquequirao. This day will only be a stopover. We will continue for another 2 hours to our next accommodation in the Marampata community. There, our family will be waiting for us.

DAY 5: MARAMPATA – QHOQUEQUIRAO – MARAMPATA

In the morning, we'll start with a hearty breakfast and then begin our most interesting day of the entire trip: a visit to Choquequirao. During the day, you'll have the opportunity to appreciate the wonders of this condor observation site and explore all the trails in the archaeological park. In the afternoon, after enjoying the park, we'll return to Marampata for the night.

DAY 6: MARAMPATA – CACHORA

After a hearty breakfast at approximately 5:00 am, you will begin the downhill hike for the first 3 to 4 hours, arriving at Rosalinas Beach at approximately 8:30 to 9:00 am. We will then continue our hike uphill to Chiquiska for approximately 4 hours, where we will have a hot lunch. We will then continue our hike for approximately 4 more hours until we reach Capuliyoc, where a vehicle will be waiting for us to take us to Cachora, our last night.
