HUMANTAY LAGOON ITINERARY 1 DAY:
Cusco - Mollepata Soraypampa and hike to Humantay lagoon.
In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco at 5:00 a.m. (We recommend a hotel near the center of Cusco). You will begin your journey to the small town of Mollepata, where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, you will continue the journey by bus to the community of Soraypampa, the views along this route are breathtaking. Visible from two large mountains, Humantay (5,900 meters above sea level) and Salkantay (6,215 meters above sea level). Arriving at Soraypampa you can recharge some snacks such as an energy drink or a snack to continue the hike to the Humantay lake, which is at an altitude of 4221 meters (13841 feet). This is an uphill trek for 2:15 hours and then 1:30 hours. Downhill. This is a lake that provides impressive views of the glacial base of the great Humantay, after a short hike around the lake, you will return to Soraypampa through the valley, observing the community of Soraypampa that is located in the valleys of Salkantay and Humantay to board the bus back to Cusco at about 2:00 pm. and to Cusco you will be arriving between 6:00 pm to continue with your daily plan.
